Ask: What does ‘saved’ mean? (Talk about saved in terms of being rescued)
Ask: Why did Jesus come to earth?
Remind: At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus leaving heaven to come to earth so that He could save us. And that his very name means ‘He saves His people from their sins.”
Pray a prayer of celebration over Jesus’ love and perfect sacrifice for His creation and His ability to rescue us completely!
Legend of the Candy Cane Activity
We did this sweet activity last year and it makes my heart almost burst open to see these precious pictures of my babies only one year ago. How they have grown. What a blessing and privilege it is to have the opportunity to watch my babies grow.
This activity is super simple and super fun!
Materials
Green Paper or Blank Canvas
Red Paint
White Paint
Paper Plates
Pencil
Fingers
Instructions
If using a blank canvas, paint the canvas green.
When canvas is dry (or on green paper) draw the shape of a candy cane.
Pour a quarter size amount of red and white paints onto separate paper plates (this will keep them from mixing the colors and creating an all pink candy cane).
Alternating thumbs dip into paints and onto the candy cane outline creating a candy cane!
Print out the Candy Cane Legend printable below and read it with your child. Then glue onto the back of your candy cane masterpiece!
