Is it possible to pursue the hearts of your children when they are not physically in your presence?
I think yes.
1. Pray for them. Even apart from the obvious reasons, praying for your children turns your heart towards them allowing you to fully engage them when they are back in your presence. It’s easy to become distracted while they are at school or at childcare losing sight of what’s really important. Praying for them keeps them at a priority in your heart and mind even when they are away.
2. Lunchbox Notes. This may seem silly but about halfway through their day you just reminded them that you love them, that you are thinking about them and that you are praying for them.
The Lunchbox Notes here have Bible Verses on one side and a coordinating message of encouragement on the other along with space for a little note from mom or dad.
