I
And I’m just saying if you are having twins you deserve an enormous party.
And if those twins are your 4th and 5th baby, you deserve an even bigger party.
So that’s just what happened and celebrate we did!!
The mama-to-be-again has a big, vibrant personality and is just full of life. So I wanted to create a shower that demonstrated that very thing we love about her. So instead of pastels we went with bold raspberries and hot pinks for the baby girl and bold aquas and emeralds and royal blues. The colors turned out perfectly!
And now all the pretty little details!
The gorgeous “cakes” below are diaper cakes made by a loving friend who is obviously incredibly talented! We used them as the centerpieces on the table because they were just too amazing to not! We topped each cake with the baby’s initial and since the names were a secret, the initials added a spontaneous guessing game to the shower festivities.
I strung fishing line through the ends of about 8 balloons and then pulled the line tight to make the bunch. Super simple and inexpensive but these adorable balloon pendants created an amazing focal point!
While gifts and games are fun and important, my favorite part of the showers I plan and host is the time of prayer for the mama-t0-be. I created these prayer cards a loooong time ago and use them for every mama that comes my way. I even emailed out a set this morning to a friend who was throwing a shower. Each card has a specific, intentional thing to pray for. We hand the cards out to anyone who wants to pray and then spend a few minutes praying for the mama, baby, daddy, and siblings. It’s really beautiful.
From all the diaper cake making there were a few diapers left over so we spread them out on the table, added some sharpies and asked the ladies to write a note of encouragement to the mama. My hope is that these hilarious and encouraging messages will bring a smile to her face in the midst of long days in the coming future.
I love this woman so much and cannot wait to meet those precious babies!!
